Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!
As many of you already know this will be my last year as a Commissioner with USA Softball. 2021 will mark my 30th year as Commissioner, first with Oakland and for the last six years with Nor Cal after the two associations were merged. It's time to let someone else take the reigns. The attached announcement outlines what needs to be done if you are interested in the position. We've also posted a job description outlining the duties of a Commissioner. A love for the game of softball and the lack of a need for monetary compensation are the two main prerequisites. This is a volunteer position but I can tell you that my rewards over these 30 years and the friendships I have made and the relationships I've had with so many people who do what they do solely for the love of the game are something money can't buy.
We are hoping to name my successor in the next couple of months. They will take the reigns sometime in the Fall prior to the USA Softball Annual Council Meeting in October. Feel free to contact me if you are interested and have any questions. As always, thank you all for your support over the years and for what you do for the game of softball and all of the youth and adults who love to play our great game.
